In this blog we are going to dive into the new and old trends that are going to stay throughout 2023 like moody spaces, minimal décor style, art deco/boho, and kitchen/accessory trends!
THE MINIMAL STYLE:
It is no surprise that minimal décor style will be on the list year after year. Most people at the beginning of every New Year say they want “zero clutter”, but it turns out that minimal style and clutter do not always mean the same thing. Minimal home décor means minimal EVERYWHERE so very little color outside of taupe’s, browns, whites, and creams. Minimal décor can also incorporate the very popular monochromatic style because tone on tone brings a sense of steadiness and peace throughout the home. When it comes to selecting this style, you have to have it flow throughout the entire house and in every space. This especially includes the kitchen area so no open shelving can be anywhere because the space must be very organized, and open shelving will create a portion of chaos if not properly staged. This home décor style will not be going anywhere for a long time because a lot of people thrive off of it and the organization it creates in their home!
MOODY AND DRAMATIC SPACES:
It is no secret that dark rooms, furniture pieces, and tone-on-tone trim have made a huge comeback but I am here to say that this is going to be a HUGE trend in 2023! This is one that most people are excited for because they are loving the look of a dark moody room where everything is the exact same color or very close in color! The dark fun shades include black, dark greys, dark greens, dark teals, and shockingly dark purple! These styles are obviously undeniably dramatic, and some could even consider them a “gothic” vibe, but they are also so very rich and fascinating when put into the correct space. With a contemporary twist, these design trends can be memorable and highly livable. The great thing is that you can add as much or as little drama as you want to the space and there will be an impact – with or without black.
THE RETURN OF ART DECO & NATURE INSPIRED SPACES:
When it comes to being aesthetically pleasing it is projected that the Roaring 20s style is going to make a huge comeback with Art Deco. No room goes fully untouched and that is especially true for this decorative trend as they are anticipating lots of fun powder baths, laundry rooms, home offices, and large gathering areas to be inspired from art deco. Interiors are trying to move away from fully minimalism as we see the rise in bringing back pieces from the past as well as bringing in bright bold colors, fun geometric patterns, wallpapers, and symmetry. Art Deco and Bohemian style can sometimes go hand in hand so if this is your home décor style nothing will change much for you in 2023! Bohemian style is known for bringing the outside nature inside with plants, wooden furniture, and calming usage of greens and blues, and the same can be true for Art Deco!
ACCESSORY TRENDS IN 2023:
Accessories can easily be one of the most important touches when it comes to changing your design trends year to year. Some of the most popular accessory touches we are going to see this year is all over the board with gold accents, correct lighting pieces being used in an area, soothing pastel colors, organization especially in the kitchen, more curves and rounded edges on furniture and hardware, and so much more! Obviously, none of these really go together, except we will see a lot of gold accents being used in most of these new trends for 2023 because it has become very universal touch picked up by most styles.
KITCHEN, BATHROOM, AND SMALL SPACES TRENDS IN 2023:
When it comes to recreating your space year after year no room can go untouched. We have seen that kitchen trends change so very quickly and that is why it is best to pick something very clean and timeless so that you are not spending a small fortune to make this space match the design going throughout the rest of your home, but rather just change a few small things. But if you are wanting to make a huge change there is few very popular pieces that are going to be a hit this year. These include, dark countertops like black marble or granite, no open shelving or cabinets, and minimal colors in the kitchen. As far as bathrooms and powder rooms, we are seeing an increase in fun pastel colors, wallpaper, and specific lighting fixtures to complete these small but important spaces.
In conclusion, these are simply just an insight to what is going to stay popular throughout 2023, but if none of these are your style no worries!
