CREATE A BUDGET:
Most of the time when we hear the word “holidays” we instantly start thinking budget, budget, budget. Many people face so much stress when it comes to the money they spend, or plan to spend during the holiday season. The best thing you can do is start creating a budget now, and know what you have to spend. Think about what is a reasonable amount and stick with it. We are still a few months away that it is the perfect time to start putting money away and ease into it when the time comes. Remember that the season is not just about gifts, even if that is all ads push for, but rather being present with the ones you love most!
BEGIN PREPARING YOUR HOME NOW:
A lot of times as soon as December rolls around we put stress on ourselves to decorate, but really you can easily start decorating throughout November without feeling like you’re skipping over Thanksgiving! This isn’t to say we don’t jump the gun a little bit and put our lights and trees quickly, but one way to compromise on both ideas is hold off on the Christmas tree, and instead bring in your cozier throw blankets/throw pillows to really set in the holiday cold cozy season. This is also the time to get those tasks done around the house before holiday hosting, and whether it be a fresh coat of paint, or treating yourself to some new furniture and giving your house a refresh! Whatever it may be, do things on your time frame before the holiday season hits to ensure you enjoy the holiday season with your friends and family!
START BUYING IN ADVANCE:
We can all probably agree, there is nothing more stressful than Christmas shopping in-store these days. Online shopping helps alleviate some of that stress, but you will sometimes run into issues with it as well like dealing with the dreaded out-of-stock items and shipping delays. The best way to solve the problems is to create a space in your home that will allow you to store those items that you can start picking up beforehand, and eliminate the stress, anxiety, pressure, and hassle by simply buying early and putting them aside in a designated area. By creating a “gift space” this also allows you to declutter, and eliminate unnecessary stuff hanging around for the next few months.
WHAT THE SEASON IS REALLY ABOUT:
Hopefully these tips will help inspire you to begin the joyous holiday season a little early so you can really relax and enjoy time with your friends and family. The holiday season is a time to be spent with your loved ones, and not take it for granted. Many people experience the holiday season alone so if you are blessed enough to have loved ones during this special season spend as much time with them as you can. We get caught up in the gift giving and stress that we forgot what the season is really about! We are wishing you a Happy Holiday Season & Happy Holiday Planning from Furniture of Dalton!
